October 2, 2011-Former Castle Cottage Burns

The Dansville Fire Department was dispatched to the scene of a structure fire early Sunday morning.  Upon Dansville Fire Department's arrival, around 3 a.m., the cottage was fully engulfed. The department, with assistance from Sparta Fire Department,  fought the blaze until about 7 a.m., left, and Dansville returned about 9 a.m. after the fire had rekindled.

Perkinsville Fire Department was called to the Dansville fire hall for stand by, Dansville Police Department assisted, and Livingston County Emergency Management is still investigating. Whether the cause of the fire was intentional or not has yet to be determined. Investigations are still pending.
